The invention relates to a hydraulic or pneumatic loading device, especially for a training apparatus. A first cup and a second cup are provided in a housing, between which cups a ball is held which is connected to a lever which can be moved in any direction. The second cup is sealed from a pressure chamber by means of a pressure-resistant diaphragm. The contact-pressure force of the second cup on the ball is varied by varying the hydraulic or pneumatic pressure in the pressure chamber, and thus influences the frictional resistance during movement of the lever. In this case, the work carried out can be detected directly by temperature measurement. The friction force to be applied can be varied via a pressure regulator, as a function of various parameters, during the movement. This results in the capability to use the device as a control lever for simple flight simulators, it being possible to influence the control pressure as a function of the position of the control lever, etc.
