In a turbine rotor axially extending grooves (38) and airfoil blades (22) supported in the grooves (38) includes locking devices (40) disposed in circumferential slots (42) and keyways (36) formed in the blade roots (34) such that said locking devices extend to the adjacent blade root (34), whereby disengagement of said locking devices (40) from the respective blade roots (34) is prevented and at least the locking device (56) locking the last of said blades (62) installed in the rotor (24) consists of two parts with deformable portions (60, 61), which overlap for installing the last blade and which are deformed so as to abut one another to prevent disengagement of said locking device (56).
