An arrangement for thermal disinfection of liquids, in particular waste water containing quantities of bacteria, comprises at least one sterilizer 1a, 1b in which the liquid is heated by addition of steam. Arranged inside the sterilizer there is a steam distribution arrangement 11 which comprises a sleeve 31 which can be displaced longitudinally and has an upper end 36 which is closed and a lower end 38 which is open. The open end 38 of the sleeve bears sealingly against a seal 39 in the bottom part of the sterilizer when not affected by steam. The steam distribution arrangement comprises a tube 30 whose lower end is connected to an inlet line 19a, 19b for the steam and whose upper end has a mouth 33, this tube mouth 33 being situated inside the sleeve 31. When steam is supplied to the sterilizer 1a, 1b, the steam pressure generates a lifting movement of the sleeve 31, as a result of which the steam can pass via the open end 38 of the sleeve into the liquid situated in the sterilizer 1a, 1b and effectively disinfect this liquid. The arrangement can also comprise a coolant tank 3 whose liquid outlet 54 is in communication with the liquid outlet 16 of the sterilizer. <IMAGE> |
