COMPOSITE TYPE THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite type thin film magnetic head and its manufacturing method permitting to easily form a current transmission path and also facilitate a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: An MR extraction layer 21c is of a same material an under core layer 21a and formed at the same time as the under core layer 21a. One end of the MR extraction layer 21c is formed to overlap an electrode layer 13 of a magnetic resistance effect element 12, and the MR extraction layer 21c and the electrode 13 are electrically connected via contact holes 15a. Thus, the current transmission paths are structurally simplified and the manufacturing process is also facilitated.
