This invention is a system (30) for detecting dislodgement of a right atrial endocardial lead (35) with an electrode (37, 39) implanted in the right atrium features sensing atrial, ventricular activity of the heart with one other lead (36), storing the activity data, a memory (90), analyzing the data sensed by lead (36) to define first windows, second windows based on the atrial, the ventricular activity respectively, and comparing the heart activity sensed by lead (35) during the first window with the activity sensed by lead (35) during the second window to determine whether or not the lead (35) is dislodged.
