PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera with an electronic viewfinder which effectively utilizes a back liquid crystal panel for reproduced image display to improve the usefulness for a photographer, in the case that a viewpart type electronic view finder consisting of a small-sized liquid crystal panel or the like is provided. SOLUTION: A viewpart type electronic viewfinder 1 and a back liquid crystal panel 2, which has a display screen larger than the finder 1, are provided, and an image outputted by a CCD 15 is displayed as a through-image on the electronic view finder 1 in the case of the photographing mode, and a recorded image reproduced from a recording medium is displayed on the back liquid crystal panel 2 in the case of the reproducing mode and an image different from the image display on the electronic viewfinder 1 or information indicating the state of the electronic camera is displayed on this panel 2 in the case of the photographing mode.
