PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modified polyester composition dyeable with a cationic dye, exhibiting a good spinnability suitable for manufacturing ultra fine fibers. SOLUTION: The polyester composition comprises a modified polyester obtained by copolymerizing 5-sodium sulfo isophthalic acid component and/or an isophthalic acid component having a phosphonium slat of sulfonic acid group, and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a hindered phenolic compound, an alkylsulfonic acid or its metal salt, an alklylarylsulfonic acid or its metal salt.
