PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for supervising and controlling communication system capable of speedily dealing with an error which occurs in data transmission. SOLUTION: Each of interface parts 11 detects the state of a communication system in detection timing at the interval of fixed time, and when an error is detected, error detection information is written in a dual port memory 12. A supervisory and control part 13 supervises the presence/absence of the error detection information in the dual port memory 12 in supervisory timing different from the detection timing just by prescribed time at the interval of the same fixed time, and when the error detection information is read out, alarm information 14 is generated.
