PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power assist type service cart capable of maintaining carrying efficiency without dropping traveling speed of the cart even on an upslope and of achieving a comfortable travel to avoid a collision of the cart and an operator drawing the cart even on a downward slope. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a power assist type service cart 1 provided with an external force detection means for detecting an external force applied to an operation part and a control means for operating a traveling means when the external force detection means detects an external force. The service cart 1 is provided with an angle sensor 4 to detect an inclination angle of the service cart 1. The control means controls the traveling means to reduce a traveling speed of the service cart 1 when it is judged based on a detection result of the angle sensor 4 that the service cart inclines downward more than designated angles during traveling, and to increase the traveling speed of the service cart 1 when the service cart 1 inclines upward more than designated angles.
