1524628 Coated reflectors BBC BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 25 June 1976 [27 June 1975] 26598/76 Heading C7F [Also in Division G5] A reflector for a liquid crystal display device comprises a glass, metal or plastics substrate having surface depressions of a bubble-like structure upon which a reflective metal layer is deposited, preferally of Al, Au, Ag or Cu. A layer of Cr5 is preferably deposited before the reflective layer 6 and a protective layer of SiO 2 7 is then deposited, evaporation being the preferred process. The surface depressions may be formed by grinding or blasting a glass plate and etching in HF/H 2 O, or by stamping a PVC foil. |
