PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction change device of an article capable of stably and precisely performing the direction change having a short carrying distance required for changing the direction with simple constitution when changing the direction of the article while carrying it with a carrying means. SOLUTION: The direction change device is equipped with a carrying means 3 carrying the article 2 in the required direction, an abutting member 20 which abuts a front surface side end part of the article 2 and rotates the article 2, a rotary pushing member 22 which is supported by a rotating shaft 21 whose upper part is inclined from the side of the abutting member 20 toward the opposite side, and pushes forward while rotating the side end part vicinity of the opposite side of the abutting member 20 of the rear end upper side part of the article 2, and a detection means 68 detecting timing rotating the rotary pushing member 22. The direction change of the article 2 is performed by the abutting of the abutting member 20 to the front surface side end part of the article 2 being carried with a carrying means 3 and the pushing action by the rotary pushing member 22 relative to the side end part vicinity of the opposite side of the rear end upper side part of the article 2.
