The method involves sliding an additional optical unit i.e. additional lens (30), on electronic equipment i.e. mobile telephone (10) by a user finger (42) laid on the optical unit so as to move the optical unit between an initial position i.e. rest position and a stop position. Lighting and photography of a finger digital impression and an authentication of the digital impression are triggered by the optical unit in the stop position and in direct sequence, where the optical unit is integrated to a support (32). An independent claim is also included for a biometric system for authentication of a user of an electronic equipment storing photographs.
