摘要
1441299 Fluid heating arrangements CLARKE CHAPMAN Ltd 8 Oct 1974 [8 Oct 1973] 46839/73 Heading F4S A fluid such as natural gas at high pressure, crude oil or fuel oil, flowing in a line 10, is heated in an arrangement comprising a duct 2 for said fluid, immersed in a body of an intermediate fluid (e.g. water) itself heated by a heater such as a burner 4 discharging its combustion products through a flue 3, the arrangement including also a by-pass for the duct 2 controlled by a valve 24 in response to a change in a parameter of the heated fluid downstream of the by-pass. The intention is that the fluid, before passing to a device such as a pressure reducing valve 18, has been heated to a sufficiently high temperature as predetermined by a thermal sensor 26 located downstream of the by-pass. The sensor 26 controls the valve 24 to direct move or less of the fluid stream 10 through the heater 2 as necessary, and may be responsive to the temperature, pressure, or mass flow of the heated fluid, or to any combination of these characteristics. The temperature of the intermediate fluid is maintained at a constant value by the sensor 16 controlling the fuel supply to the burner 4. When appropriate, the burner fuel supply may be tapped from the line 10 of fluid to be heated. The tapped-off fluid may then be preheated by the intermediate fluid before being supplied to the burner. A number of the heat exchanger assemblies may be interconnected either in series or in parallel.
