For a device of continuous elastomeric strip, the method includes extruding an elastomeric mass under pressure between mutually confronting stationary and movable surfaces, the stationary and movable surfaces converging toward one another and cooperatively defining a pressure chamber there between and reducing the cross-sectional thickness of the elastomeric mass under increased pressure as the latter is passed through a restricion orifice at an end of the chamber.
