PURPOSE:To heat simply and with an enhanced power source efficiency in accordance with the scattering of resistances of heating elements, by selectively operating switching means in accordance with a classification indicated on a heat-sensitive head used. CONSTITUTION:Based on the average of resistances of the heating elements measured at the time of manufacturing the heat-sensitive head 1, a classification (m) is indicated on the head 1. A driver 2 is provided with the switching means S1-S3, which are selectively operated in accordance with the classification (m) indicated on the head 1, at the time of manufacturing the heat-sensitive recorder or replacing the head 1. In response to switching information generated from the switching means S1-S3, the driver 2 outputs heating power with a pulse duration corresponding to the classification (m) of the head 1, namely, the average of the resistances of the heating elements used in the head 1. |
