PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic photosensitive body elevated in photosensitivity higher than a cyanine dye alone by incorporating a heterocyclic compd. together with the cyanine dye in a photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:The heterocyclic compd. incorporated together with the cyanine dye as its sensitizer in a charge generating layer to form a laminate photoconductive layer together with a charge transfer layer or incorporated in a single photoconductive layer is represented by formula I in which a group represented by formula II is a heterocyclic compd. selected from compds. represented by formulae III-XIII: R is H, -(CH3)2, or -N(C2H5)2; Y is S, O, Se, N-R, R is 1-5C alkyl; R3-R10 are each 1-5C alkyl, phenyl, or H; n is 0 or 1 or 2; the aromatic rings of said heterocyclic compds. may be substd. by alkyl, phenyl, alkoxy, dialkylamino, NO2, or halogen. |
