ROTARY FILTER WITH REPLACEABLE FILTRATE CONDUITS

The invention relates to a rotary assembly for a rotary disc filter such as is used for dewatering slurries or pulps. A plurality of filter element segments is supported on a rotary shaft of the assembly and flow conduits communicate in flow conducting relation with the filter element segments. The flow conduits are spaced circumferentially of the rotary assembly and extend axially of the shaft. A plurality of circumferentially spaced securing elements is selectively releasably affixed with respect to the rotary assembly circumferentially intermediate adjacent pairs of the conduits, so as to secure each of the conduits adjacent thereto with respect to the rotary assembly. Each conduit is thus secured with respect to the rotary assembly by the pair of securing elements circumferentially adjacent thereto. The pair of securing elements securing any one of the conduits is selectively releasable therefrom for disassembly of that one conduit while the circumferentially adjacent conduit is maintained secure to the rotary assembly by means including others of the circumferentially spaced securing elements. Thus the assembly may be readily selectively dismantled for servicing if required.
