AUTOMATIC ROOM REGISTER

An automatic room register which employs a fixed and a movable barrier for controlling the flow of air from a heating or air conditioning system into a room. The fixed and movable barriers are perforated to form apertures of similar shape and spacing in each barrier. The movable barrier is mounted in low-friction relationship to the fixed barrier and may be moved by an actuator from a position where the apertures of one barrier are overlaid by the unperfora-ted areas of the other barrier to a position where the apertures of both barriers are in alignment to permit air flow. Upon de-energization of the actuator a return spring returns the movable barrier to a position where air flow is blocked.
