PURPOSE:To provide a titled apparatus with which a nozzle for supplying a molten metal is made shorter and which permits the easy cooling of metallic molds by the constitution in which the molten metal is cooled between the metallic mold moving rectilinearly in a casting direction and the metallic mold oscillating rectilinearly in the casting direction and the direction opposite thereto. CONSTITUTION:Many cooling blocks 4a are attached to an endless chain 3 wound on freely rotatable sprockets 1, 2 to constitute the lower metallic mold 4. The upper metallic mold 5 having a hollow plate frame is disposed freely movably to the upper part thereof by providing guide rollers 6 pivotally fitted to the side parts thereof. An oscillating arm 13 is provided between an eccentric shaft 12 mounted via a bracket 11 to the frame 10a of a pinch roll device 10 and the pin 14 of the upper metallic mold 5. The molten metal M is a tundish 16 is supplied between the upper mold 5 and the lower mold 4 from the nozzle 17 and the sprocket 1 is driven to move rectilinearly the mold 4 in the same direction as the arrow-marked casting direction. On the other hand, the shaft 12 is rotationally driven to oscillate rectilinearly the mold 5 alternately in the casting direction and the direction opposite therefrom; at the same time cooling water is circulated through pipes 8, 9 by which a solidified metal S is obtd. |
