PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having a large non-linear optical effect by specifying the radius of a core and the specific refractive index in a single mode filter. CONSTITUTION:In the optical filter contg. the core part having the prescribed refractive index nc and the clad part having the refractive index nd which is somewhat smaller than that nc of the core part, the radius of the core is <=1mum, and the difference DELTAn=(nc-nd)/nd=>=2%. The glass composition of the core part is composed of SiO2 and >=1 kinds of metal oxides selected from GeO2, TiO2, P2O5 and Al2O3. The glass composition of the clad part is composed of mainly SiO2, B2O3 and F. One or more of a very small amount of metals selected from Nd, Ce, Yb, Er contains in the core part. A part which helps to give a stress at the circumference of the core part exists in the titled fiber. |
