A device for automatically switching off the voltage to a computer after the execution of a series of instructions by this computer, especially a backup, comprises an electrical arrangement itself comprising a shift register 1 providing a sorting function for signals originating from computer, a comparator 2 linked to the outputs Q0 to Q7 of the said shift register and reacting to certain signals by triggering a relay 3, linked to the output of the comparator, which then controls the opening of a switch for switching off the voltage 5 to the computer. The output of the comparator and the relay are advantageously linked together by means of a time delay unit. A momentary-action turn-on switch 6 is mounted at the terminals of the turn-off switch 5. The device may further comprise a manual momentary-action switch 9 for zero resetting by temporarily breaking the current. <IMAGE>
