CROWN PRESET METHOD AND DEVICE FOR BACKUP ROLL OF REVERSIBLE TYPE CLUSTER ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To improve the operating efficiency and to improve the sheet shape by distributing a crown amount of upper and lower backup rolls to the respective rolls, within an allowable rolling load range in which sheet shapes are controllable, based on a predicted rolling load in each pass. CONSTITUTION:Either crown adjustment of upper and lower backup rolls is performed only under no load condition. A crown amount of the upper and lower backup rolls is found by a crown adjusting part 25 setting the amount under a specific condition based on the respective setting results of an allowable rolling load arithmetic part 24 and an arithmetic part 23 predicting a rolling load in each pass and is set through crown adjusting devices 11A and 11B. In that method, the operation is efficiently performed and the product quality is improved.
