PURPOSE:To improve the availability of a buffer area when the wiring/reading jobs are applied to plural work files by releasing the buffer undergone the multiplex buffering during the input processing. CONSTITUTION:A work file control means 1 produces a buffer segmenting request to a buffer area control means 2 for the output request of a user via a reception terminal for requests given from users according to the state of a free area of a buffer area. If a buffer area is sacred, an output record is written into this buffer area. When the buffer area is not secured, an output record writing request is given to an input/output means 3 of a physical file 5. Then the record set on the work area is controlled. At the same time, it is confirmed whether a record exists in the buffer area or on the file 5 with respect to an input request. Then the record is taken out and returned to the user. The information on a work file control table is changed to the work file open and close requests given from the users.
