The process is characterized in that it comprises the treatment of native or genetically manipulated micro- organisms or macro-organisms which live in the soil or on the surface thereof with the compounds of general formulae I to VII and the use of the live organisms thus transformed as carriers of antidotes for the treatment of cultivation soils in the fresh state or after their preservation by means of freeze-drying or application to a vehicle in their original state or after their preparation by means of grinding, spraying, extraction or drying, before or simultaneously with or after the treatment with the herbicides, at any time up to germination of the cultivated plant, by virtue of which the selectivity of the thiolcarbamates of general formula I and of the chloracetanilides of general formula VIII vis-a-vis the cultivated plants, preferably maize (corn), is increased. <IMAGE>
