<p>In order to develop a process for separating aluminium foils from plastic films, in particular PE films, in such a way that environmentally friendly recovery of the aluminium is possible, it is proposed to heat the composite film at about 100 DEG C in an at least 20% solution of a lower fatty acid CnH2n+1(COOH) where n is less than or equal to 4, that this heating be maintained for from about 10 to 20 minutes, and that, after cooling, the detached plastic films are separated from the aluminium foils which remain, where, in a preferred way of carrying out the process, the cooling is carried out in a tightly sealed vessel in such a way that a reduced pressure, approximately up to 80% of the natural air pressure, is formed on cooling.</p> |
