PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a check valve capable of surely preventing a reverse flow and cutting off the circulation of gas. SOLUTION: A valve element 19 includes an easily deformed elastic peripheral wall 20 disposed in a reverse bevel shape and a water receiving recess 22 formed therein, usually the upper edge portion of the elastic peripheral wall 20 is brought into tight contact with a valve seat to cut off the circulation of gas, and when the specified amount of liquid is stored in the recess 22, the elastic peripheral wall 20 is elastically deformed to discharge water. Thus, the circulation of gas is cut off in a standby state, and when liquid flows in, the liquid is stored in the water receiving recess, and the water is discharged by using its load to deform the elastic peripheral wall. Regarding a reverse flow, it is prevented by pressing the elastic wall into pressure contact with the valve seat. Further, the valve element 19 is attached to a float 23, and when the liquid flows in a reverse way, the elastic peripheral wall 20 of the valve element 19 is strongly adhered to the valve seat by the floating force of the float 23 to prevent the reverse flow, and even for the liquid of a high pressure, its reverse flow is prevented.
