PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which is mainly for a general household, inexpensive and easy to operate and used as both a chime and an alarm. SOLUTION: An opening/closing switch consisting of a pair of movable contacts and fixed contacts attached close to each other, e.g. at an entrance door and a support frame of the door is provided, a chime circuit and an alarm circuit are provided side by side in an alarm main body, and by operation of an operation changeover switch 12, the device is used in the same manner as a normal chime or it is set to the alarm to ring an alarm when an intruder opens the door illegally to make the intruder leave when a house is left empty.
