PURPOSE: To provide an image data handling system, printing system, and recording medium recording system which can retrieve an image data to be printed through network with protection of privacy. CONSTITUTION: This system makes much easier for a customer to forwards an image data for printing because a retrieve server 21 retrieves the image data in a home server 13 without need for the customer to upload the image data. And retrieve from an unauthorized third person is restricted because only the retrieve server, to which WWW server 31 issues a retrieve authorization, is allowed to retrieve the image data. Thus, privacy can be protected.
