摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect movement with small misdetection by detecting an object movement with an evaluation value for automatic focusing. SOLUTION: An evaluation value arithmetic part 32 finds a 1st evaluation value which has a smaller degree of variation due to the driving of a photographic lens 10 and a 2nd evaluation value which has a larger degree of variation due to the driving of the photographic lens 10 on the basis of an image signal obtained from a CCD imaging element 11. A focusing position detection part 35 evaluates the degree of focusing of the object by using the 1st and 2nd evaluation values and drives the photographic lens 10 to a focusing position FP. A movement detection part 33 detects the object movement on an image plane before and after the photographic lens 10 is driven by using the 1st evaluation value to reduce the influence of variation in defocusing quantity, thereby detecting the object movement with high precision.
