PURPOSE: A backlight device for a vehicle is provided to prevent unnecessary power consumption by making a driver adjust the brightness of illumination according to the external circumstances and to improve driver's convenience by adjusting the brightness of the illumination according to a driver's taste. CONSTITUTION: A backlight device for a vehicle comprises a power terminal(51) to which power from outside is supplied; a light-emitting part(60) emitting light by the power supplied from the power terminal; a constant voltage circuit part(70) making a current of uniform capacity transmitted to the light-emitting part although the power supplied from the power terminal is varied; a current-applying part(80) operating by the constant voltage part to make the current of uniform capacity transmitted to the light-emitting part according to the power supplied from the power terminal; and a current control part(90) connected between the current-applying part and the light-emitting part, to adjust the brightness of light emitted from the light-emitting part by repeatedly controlling the current applied to the light-emitting part.
