Herbicidal mixts. contain >2 of the following: (a) a cpd. of formula (I): (where R and R1 = lower alkyl) and/or (b) a cpd. of formula RR1N-C(=X)-S-R2 (where R = lower alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, opt. methyl substd. cycloaliphatic residue or a bis- or tricycloaliphatic residue; R1 = lower alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl; X = O or S; R2 = opt. halogen-substd. alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, phenyl or benzyl or methyl-substd. phenyl or benzyl) and/or (c) a cpd. of formula HR1N-C(O)-O-R (where R = opt. halogenor alkyl-substd. phenyl or benzyl, (halo)alkyl, (halo)alkinyl, (halo)alkenyl, -N=C(CH3)2, R1 = alkyl, (halo)phenyl, methylphenyl, nitro or aminobenzenesulphonyl), and/or (d) cpds. of formula RR1N-C(=X)-R2 (where R = naphthyl, 5-chloro-4-methyl-thiazolyl, opt. alkyl- or halogen-substd. phenyl or benzyl, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, or methoxy; R1 = H, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxycarboxymethyl, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, whereby all but H and alkoxycarboxymethyl may be substd. with halogen; R2 = (halo) alkyl, (halo)alkenyl, (halo)alkinyl, opt. carboxy-, halogen-, methyl- or haloalkyl-substd. phenyl or benzyl, alpha-naphthoxyethyl, diphenylmethyl or 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxymethyl; X = O or S; whereby in a mixt. of d+f, R1 cannot be alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl) and/or (e) cpds. of formula R-C(X)2-COOR1 (where R = (halo)alkyl, benzamidoxy, opt. halogen-, alkyl- or haloalkyl-substd. benzyl; X = H or halogen; R1 = alkyl, H and salts such as the Na-salt, or halogen-substd. alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl or benzyl) and/or (f)cpds. of formula (VI): where X = opt. halogen-substd. (di)alkylamino, alkoxy(alkyl) amino, alkylalkoxyamino, alpha-hydroxy-beta, beta, beta-trichloroethylamino, amino, (di)methylformamidine, aminotartronic acid diethyl esteR, adipicamide acid, methoxy, -NH-CO-COOR, -NH-COOR whereby R = opt. halogen-substd. alkyl, or phenhyl; Y = C1, Br, methoxy; Z = H, methyl, haloalkyl or alkoxy and/or (g) cpds. of formula (VII) The mixtures may be used once or more as pre- or post emergence herbicides against mono- or dicotyle wees in a wide variety of cultures. They may also be used as total herbicide in church yards, waters, rail tracks, waste land etc. Mixts. of two or more of these components have a herbicidal activity which is much higher than that of any of the single components.
