PURPOSE:To obtain exterior ornamental parts having high ornamental properties and a black color tone unlike conventional ones by carrying out ion plating in an N2 gas atmosphere under reduced pressure using Ti as an evaporation source. CONSTITUTION:Metallic Ti is set as evaporation source 5, substance 3 to be treated is attached to substrate 2 which doubles as a cathode, and substrate 2 is heated to 100-300 deg.C. Vacuum vessel 1 is evacuated to about 1X10<-4> Torr with exhaust exhaust system 8, and N2 gas is introduced 6 to maintain the gas pressure at 1X 10<-3>-1X10<-2> Torr. By applying about 0.5-4kV voltage to source 5 from DC voltage power source 4, Ti is evaporated with electron beam generator 7 to form a black lustrous film on the surface of substance 3. Thus, exterior ornamental parts for a wrist watch, etc. are obtd. The parts have high ornamental properties, superior adhesion and a black color tone unlike conventional ones. |
