PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of copying work by forming again the latent images of a latent image carrying body according to the length of the stop time when the copying apparatus has stopped while it is forming the copying images continuously. CONSTITUTION:If in a copying apparatus having a capacity of obtaining 100 sheets of copied images from a primay latent image the primary latent image is formed again every time when trouble has occured at the 25th sheet and 50th sheet, it becomes equivalent to an apparatus which performs 100 sheets of copying through formation of the primary latent images of substantially three times. Thereupon, if any trouble occurs during continuous copying, whether the primary latent image is reusable or not is judged by electric means such as timer according to the processing time for the trouble. If it is judged to be usable, the primary latent image is reused and if it is judged unusable, the primary latent image is formed again, after which the copying operation for the remaining sheet number is carried out. In this way, the efficiency of the copying work may be improved. |
