PURPOSE:To effectively direct a corona discharge current, and to exactly execute a transfer, by placing an insulating member on the inside surface of both side walls of a shielding case, and also providing a discharge means on the lower side in the moving direction of a transfer material of the shielding case. CONSTITUTION:A transfer material 2 is superposed on a developed image D formed on a photosensitive drum, a tranfer is executed by applying transfer voltage to a discharge wire 4 of a corona transfer device 3, and since insulating members 8, 9 are provided on the inside surface of both side walls 5, 7 of a shielding case, corona discharge does not flow to the side wastefully but corona discharge currents E1, E2 directed to the transfer material 2 are obtained, and the transfer is executed efficiently. Also, since a discharge means 10 for removing the surplus charge on the transfer material is provided on the transfer material separating area, there is no possibility that corona charge on the transfer material 2 is discharged to an adjacent metallic part in the course of carrying and puts a tranfer image into disorder. |
