PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a generator by sequentially varying the exciting current of the generator which supplies electric power to a squirrel-cage induction motor. CONSTITUTION:When a starting pushbutton switch BS1 is pressed in the state that a generator 4 is electrically coupled to a motor M, a relay 1X is excited, and a constant current is supplied through an initial exciting resistor RO to the exciting coil FC of the generator 4. When the first time limiting relay 2T1 is operated, a relay 31X is excited, the output current from a current transformer CT is supplied through a reactor L and an attenuating resistor R to the exciting coil FC of the generator 4. When the second time limiting relay 2T2 is operated, a relay 19X is excited, the supply of exciting current from an external power source is stopped, and the output current from the current transformer CT is supplied directly to the exciting current FC of the generator 4. |
