Diluting calcium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide or calcined dolomite hydrates into a polar solvent i.e. water, alcohols, heating at the below 100 deg.C with stirring and spray-adding 25-85% phosphoric acid at pH 8-10 to give apatite of formula Ca10(1-x) Mg10x(PO4)6(OH)2. Where x is 0-0.1 except for 0 and 1.0.
