PURPOSE:The titled drug, containing insulin and a novel synthetic phenyl ester type chymotrypsin inhibitor, capable of preventing the inactivation of the insulin in the intestinal tracts, effectively absorbable therefrom, and exhibiting improved hypoglycemic action. CONSTITUTION:A drug containing insulin and a compound of formula I (R is H or alkoxyl; R' is alkyl, cycloalkyl, benzyl, morpholinocarbonylmethyl, piperazinoethyl, carbamoylalkyl, etc.) or an acid addition salt thereof, e.g. 1-ethyl-4-[4- (1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphthoyloxy)benzoyl]piperazine methanesulfonate. The amount of the inhibitor is preferably 0.1-10mg based on one unit iisulin. The novel compound of formula I is obtained by esterifying a tetrahydronaphthylcarboxylic acid of formula II with a 4-substituted phenol of formula III. |
