A transfusion prepn. for intravenous infusion contg. glucose and electrolytes including, as a phosphorus source, a pharmaceutically acceptable, water-sol salt of a polyhydric alcohol phosphoric ester or of a monosaccharide phosphoric ester, characterised in that the prepn. has a pH of 5 to 7.5 and contains a nontoxic chelating agent selected from citric acid, salicylic acid, alkylene polyamino- carboxylic acids, and salts of said acids in an amt. sufficient to suppress thermal discoloration and decomposition of the glucose.
