This invention relates to fixing and securing a bath towel around the body or head without using a knot, button or hook. The towel is held in place by a "Velcro" type fixing strip sewn along the right-hand or left-hand edge on the front or back of the towel; another "Velcro" type strip is also sewn, opposite the first. A length of elastic is inserted in a hem (7) between these two ends to provide a secure grip. In the variant for supporting the hair, the towel is also provided with a means of attachment (9) on the lower side and an attachment point (10) on the back of the attachment point (5). This kind of towel may be used in perfumers, beauty salons, hotels, sports centres, medical centres, water cure establishments, hairdressers and by individuals. <IMAGE>
