PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit for a cargo handling vehicle in which power is supplied to a load from a lead battery and a lithium battery simultaneously, and when a power-supply connector of the lead battery is drawn out to disconnect the lead battery from a power supply circuit to the load, power supply to the load can be stopped urgently with certainty.SOLUTION: A power unit for a cargo handling vehicle includes a lead battery 11, a lithium battery 12, and a battery connector 61 for disconnecting the lead battery 11 mechanically from a power line 30 of +72 V (power supply line for an inverter 14). When the lead battery 11 is disconnected mechanically from the power line 30 of +72 V by the battery connector 61, a main controller detects the disconnection, opens a conductor BC, disconnects the lithium battery 12 from the power line 30 of +72 V and blocks power supply (electric power) to the inverter 14 (running motor 13) perfectly. Thus, a power source of a battery forklift can be blocked perfectly and the battery forklift can be stopped urgently with certainty. |
