The present invention addresses the problem of providing a machine tool with which it is possible to reduce power consumption when a prescribed idle time occurs between the end of the machining of one workpiece that is sequentially machined at each holding device of the machine tool and the start of the machining of another workpiece. This machine tool is provided with a command device that, with respect to a control device that controls the machining operations of a workpiece sequentially machined at each of multiple holding devices for holding the workpiece, issues a command for ending the machining of one workpiece and the start of the machining of another workpiece. In addition, the control device is provided with a power supply control unit that, by means of an end command (EOP), stops the supply of power to a drive unit associated with the machining operation at the holding device corresponding to the command from the command device, and that, by means of a start command (SOP), starts the supply of power to this drive unit. |
