The present invention relates to a drive system, in particular for applications in conveying technology and the food industry, having a fixed shaft (1), having an electric motor (2) which has a rotor (3), which can be rotated about the shaft (1), and a stator (6), having a transmission (16) for reducing a rotational speed of the rotor (3), and having a drum (13) which can be driven by the transmission (16) at a reduced rotational speed and can be rotated concentrically about the shaft, wherein the rotor (3) and the transmission (16) are arranged within the drum (13), and wherein the stator (6) of the electric motor (2) is arranged outside the drum (13). The stator (6) preferably wholly or partially encloses the drum (13), to be precise essentially in the region (B), in which, within the drum (13), the rotor (3) is arranged. It may also be advantageous if the stator (6) only partially encloses the drum (13), in particular, in the form of a half-shell (25), encompasses only 180° or less of the outer circumference (15) of the drum (13). The invention allows, despite only a small amount of space being required, to transmit large torques, at a relatively low rotational speed, to a rotatable drum and does not require any electrical supply lines to rotating parts or electric feed-throughs in spaces with lubricants. This allows the invention to be used, in particular, in conveying systems and, quite particularly, in the food industry where stringent requirements in respect of hygiene and cleanliness have to be met. |
