Thrashing-machines.-To remove palm fruit and like products from bunches or stalks these are charged into a rotating cylinder a, preferably sloping towards the discharge side, within which a drum b is arranged eccentrically but parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder, the drum rotating in a direction reverse to but with greater circumferential velocity than that of the cylinder. The cylinder wall may be provided with perforations to permit the escape of separated fruit. The cylinder wall of the drum may be polygonal in shape with rounded corners or may be provided with ribs to give better contact with the bunches.
