This application is for a user interface that allows the user to manipulate the applications running on his touch screen device more easily. It designed specifically for use with applications that have multi-layered objects such as plans for a building 100. The user will see the usual objects such as the walls 112, and the rooms 110 that are outlined by the walls. The plan will then have a colour layer 120 overlaid on top of it. Each layer within the plans has a different colour value. Each colour value is attributed to an item, or items, and each item has actions and information associated with it. The colour layer is invisible, or the colours are indistinguishable to the user. There is a second invention for electronically mapping information to a structure by attributing a colour value to an item and linking information associated with that item to the colour value, and a third invention for manipulating an electronic plan of a structure by moving the colour block of an item with the item when the item is moved. |
