1. A headrest comprising:
a housing which can be moved at least partially relative to a retention rod toward and away from the head of the seat occupant, wherein the headrest is configured to be arranged on a backrest of a vehicle seat through the housing; a rotor provided on the housing and having a positive-locking or non-positive locking mechanism, wherein the positive-locking or non-positive locking mechanism extends along an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis, wherein the rotor and the positive-locking or non-positive locking mechanism are configured to move congruently and rotate congruently about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis, wherein the longitudinal axis extends in a direction toward and away from the head of the seat occupant, wherein the positive-locking or non-positive-locking mechanism can selectively be brought into engagement with a locking mechanism connected to the retention rod and is configured to fix the housing in a particular position relative to the retention rod; and a bearing for the rotor, wherein the bearing is arranged on the housing and the rotor is provided so as to be able to be rotated and longitudinally displaced relative to the bearing.
