transmitting both a first type of data and a second type of data through a communication channel from a server computer system to a client computer system; monitoring a transmission parameter of the communication channel; and controlling an amount of the second type of data transmitted through the communication channel in accordance with a monitored state of the transmission parameter, the controlling causing a decrease in the amount of the second type of data transmitted through the communication channel when the monitored state of the transmission parameter reaches a threshold value indicating an unacceptable condition associated with transmission of the first type of data through the communication channel. |
