A polarization beam splitter, comprising a straight-through waveguide and a crossing waveguide. There is an interval between the straight-through waveguide and the crossing waveguide and they are asymmetric; a coupling waveguide of the straight-through waveguide is a secondary etching waveguide having a fixed shape, and a coupling waveguide of the crossing waveguide is a progressive type strip waveguide. The polarization beam splitter is used to solve the problem in the related art that a polarization beam splitter involves great manufacturing difficulties, requires complex and even non-standard processing steps and has a small process tolerance. |
