A computing device for controlling power to at least one port includes a processor, and at least one port communicatively connected to the processor. The computing device further includes a charge management module communicatively connected to the processor. The charge management module includes a state determination engine to determine a state of the computing device, and a control engine to control electrical power to the port based at least in part on the state of the computing device and a user-defined time period after disconnection of an alternating current (AC) electrical power supply from the computing device.
