PURPOSE:To edit the retrieved result of a document retrieval sub-system by a server with the respective document processing programs of clients. CONSTITUTION:In a client/server type system, a server S is provided with a document retrieval sub-system 2, a client 1-3 composes of a man-machine interface sub-system 5 for performing document re-editing and document image display, and the client 1-3 is provided with a table 7 for document processing program start describing the file name of a source document corresponding to a document ID returned from the server S and the starting method of the document processing program editing the file name. On the other hand, the display image of each document is provided as a document image file and the image of the leading page of each document is displayed in place of a document list. When any specified document is displayed, the images of the respective pages in that document are displayed. |
