Embodiments of the present invention provide a channel management method, device and an access point (AP) and relate to the field of communications. The method comprises: the AP sends a random access trigger frame in a channel, the random access trigger frame carries transmission opportunity length of the random access, and the transmission opportunity of the random access includes a number n of sub time slots, wherein n is an integer more than zero; the random access trigger frame is used for triggering a Station (STA) to send a frame for uplink transmission in the channel in a sub time slot of the transmission opportunity of the random access; the channel is intercepted in a first sub time slot, which is any sub time slot in the number n of sub time slots; a random access protection frame is sent in the first sub time slot when the channel is intercepted to be idle, and the random access protection frame is used for preventing the channel from being preempted in the first sub time slot. The present invention can overcome the traditional STA to preempt the channel in the random access process.
